Environmental Awareness And Migrant Workers Appreciation Day

2016

We had the opportunity to conduct a Kayaking Environmental Awareness programme with Waterways Watch society! Gathering 10 locals and 18 migrant workers, we paddled together around iconic sights of Singapore, making a trip to a dead zone by the rocky shore, where litter gets trapped impermanently in the shrubs lining the shore and picked 23kg of trash!

We were happy to learn of the joy some of the workers shared about kayaking on clean waters, something which they may not enjoy due to over-polluted rivers back home that lack of sanitation. The responsibility of cleanliness in our environment is a shared one. Not just with the present users of the space, but we share the impact of our litter with our future generations as well.
